Prospect Park was created over 150 years ago by businessman William Vanderbilt as a nature preserve in the heart of Brooklyn. The park occupies over 585 acres of land and today is one of the most popular parks in all of New York City. The park has over 1,700 acres of land. The Park is a perfect place to view the New York City skyline. The Park's highest point is Grand Army Plaza, which sits at an elevation of approximately 79 feet, or 25 meters. The Park can be accessed from Manhattan via the Brooklyn Bridge.
